Clear orthodontic retainers are an invisible way to straighten your teeth. Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® use a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. Since the treatment involves clear braces, you will not have to worry about the embarrassment that is often associated with traditional metal braces. Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® have both been proven effective in clinical research.
The treatment process of clear retainers is simple.
You wear each set of aligners for 2 – 3 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss: approximately 22 hours per day. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position as prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Benson about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case, based on each individual patient’s needs.
How clear appliances are made
The aligners are made through a combination of your dentist’s expertise and a 3-D computer imaging technology. Both ClearCorrect® and Invisalign® are similar in their manufacturing process, however, through hundreds of completed treatment plans, Dr. Benson has discovered which system works best for each individual patient based on their treatment plan.
